Sounds of Africa
On Friday, April 26, 2024, the 8th grade music class performed for the residents of Kinship Pointe, Hillcrest Nursing Home, and Highland Park Retire Community in McCook, NE. Each performance involved five songs of African drumming and singing along with an educational presentation of the culture and history of West African music. Through the Arts NOW Grant, funding for this project was provided through the Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska Arts Council, and Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
