Qualifying for State Track!
The Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves track team competed at the District D7 Track and Field Meet in McCook on Wednesday, May 8th. The MHC Wolves track team had 11 athletes qualify for the State Track Meet. While some beating their own co-op records in the process and only getting better!
Qualifying for state in the boys 4x400 relay for winning with a time of (3:36.23) while beating their own co-op record in the process was Jaxson Anders, Gage Gerlach, Oliver Anders, and Jeremiah Ingison. For the girls 4x400 relay Addy Richards, Reagan Stengel, Eliie Broz, and Blayklee Farr qualified for state and won the relay with a time of (4:13.15). Reagan Stengel, Caylie Softley, Karissa Stengel, and Addy Richards won the 4x800 relay and qualified for state with the time of (10:06.72). Congratulations Blayklee Farr for also qualifying for state in Long Jump by placing forth with a jump of (4.85m). Also to Caylie Softley for placing third with a time of (5:54.89) and qualifying for the state track 1600 meter dash!
For the boys 100 meter dash Carlos Romero qualified for sate by placing second with a time of (11.60) at the D7 Track Meet. In the 400 meter dash with a time of (51.14) Jeremiah Ingison qualified for state and beat his own co-op record. Jeremiah has also qualified for state in the 800 meter in the D7 Track Meet by placing first with a time of (2:04.27). Addy Richards won the D7 800 meter race and qualified for state with a time of (2:27.35). Addy beat her own co-op record in the process.
MHC competed against 11 other teams in McCook. The boys placed fourth overall with 59 points, and the girls placed sixth overall with 45 points. Congratulations to all of the athletes that participated in the 2024 District 7 District Track Meet, and to the coaches that helped them get this far!
