Bump, Set, Spike!
Here are some highlights of the 2023-2024 Volleyball season!
May-Hay Lady Wolves traveled to Hershey on August 22nd, 2023 to play in the Hershey Jamboree Volleyball Triangular. In their first game they played Hershey and lost 25-15 in the first set, and 26-24 in the second set. MHC Lady Wolves will play North Platte St. Pats Next. In this game the Wolves split sets with North Platte St. Pats. In set one MHC lost 25-18. Then in the second set MHC won 25-19! August 24th, 2023 the Lady Wolves had another busy day playing in a triangular at Hayes Center. Their first game was against Sandhills Valley and won both sets! Lady Wolves next opponent was Paxton and lost lost both sets. On August 31st, 2023 our Lady Wolves traveled to Colby, KS for yet another triangular in Rawlins County. MHC's played against Rawlins County first and won in 2 sets. The first set MHC took Rawlins County 25-18. Then in the second set MHC won 27-25! In their next game MHC Lady Wolves played Southwest. The Lady Wolves dropped both sets to Southwest, 25-22, and 25-20. The next game was played against South Loup on September 1st, 2023. It was a very intense game! The Lady Wolves defeated South Loup in 4 sets, set one 19-25, set two 25-23, set three 25-20, and set four 25,20! In yet another triangular the lady wolves compete in on September 9th, 2023. Their fist game was against Loomis and ended up loosing in three sets. set one 25-22, set two 17-25, and set three 22-25. Their next game was played against Arapahoe. The Lady Wolves defeated Arapahoe in two sets, first set 25-23, second set 29-27! On September 7th, 2023 our MHC Volleyball girls were back in action traveling to Chase County to play against Maxwell. MHC ended up winning in four sets! set one 25-16, set two 23-25, set three 25-15, and set four 25-23! What a game congratulations girls! September 9th, 2023 MHC girls played in the Hitchcock County VB tournament. In the first game MHC played Hitchcock County and lost in three sets. In the first set it was 15-25, the second set 25-22, then in the third set was 24-26. MHC faced Alma next. Our lady Wolves battled hard and did not give up and won both sets. first set 25-19, second set 26-24! The last team MHC played against was Axtell. The Lady Wolves lost in two sets, 25-21, and 25-10. MHC earn runner-up in the Hitchcock County Tournament! MHC Volleyball girls hosted WaPa at Hayes Center on September 14th, 2023. What a game the girls had winning in three sets: 25-17, 25-18, 25-22! On September 20th, 2023 MHC Lady Wolves played in the championship against Hi-Line and won in two sets! 25-18, and 25-19 what a game! Their last game of the season was on October 24th in Southwest for the D1-11 Sub-District Tournament Championship. The Lady Wolves fell to Southwest in three sets, 17-25, 12-25, 20-25, to end their season. Congratulations ladies keep working harder and improving, we can't wait to see what comes of next season!
