Hats off to the class of 2024!

             On Saturday, May 11th, 2024 Maywood Public Schools held the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2024. The Invocation was given by Gage Gerlach. Mr. Bejot welcomed guests that attended the ceremony. The MPS Class of 2024, Valedictorians, Haydn Farr, Jeremiah Ingison, Pryce Johnston, and Nathan Renner were recognized and gave their speeches. Mrs. Stengel and Mr. McCain announced scholarships that were awarded to students of the graduating class. Four-year honor roll awards were announced. Four year regular honor roll award recipients must achieve all grades of 85% or above with an average of 88% for all 8 semesters of their high school career. This award was given to Gage Gerlach. Four year honor roll with distinction award recipients must achieve grades 93% or above with an average of 95% for all 8 Semesters of their high school career. This year, Haydn Farr, Jeremiah Ingison, Pryce Johnston, and Nathan Renner were honored with this award. The diplomas were presented by Mr. McCain. The senior class was honored with a tribute video made by Karlie Gerlach. In conclusion of the ceremony, Gene Rutherford gave the Benediction. Congratulations to the 11 graduates of the Maywood Public School Class of 2024!

Tyler Cappa is the son of the late Kasimara Peterson-Cappa and Robert Cappa. Tyler plans to attend MPCC in North Platte and study Auto Body and Auto Mechanics

Elias Esparza is the son of Abel Esparza and Aurora Dominguez. Elias plans to attend MPCC in North Platte and obtain a CDL and work for AEC & Sons Trucking.

Haydn Farr is the son of Dallas and Lindsey Farr. Haydn plans on attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and study Animal Science - Veterinary Medicine

Gage Gerlach is the son of Russ and Lisa Gerlach. Gage plans to attend Southeast Community College in Beatrice for 2 years and then transfer to UNL to study Agribusiness.

Jeremiah Ingison is the son of Dani Ingison. Jeremiah plans to attend Concordia University in Seward to study Secondary Math Education and play Basketball.

Pryce Johnston is the daughter of Chad and Audra Johnston and Robyn and Joe Carey. Pryce plans to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and study fisheries and wildlife biology.

Brian Loveland is the son of John and Tammie Loveland. Brian plans to attend Mid Plains Community College to earn his Associate’s Degree

Cora Meyer is the daughter of Greg Meyer and Amie Sundstrom. Cora plans to attend Mid Plains Community College in North Platte to complete her Associates of Science Degree then transfer for Pre-Dental studies

Nathan Renner is the son of Greg and Tara Renner. Nathan plans on attending Southeast Community College in Milford for two years in their John Deere Diesel Tech program.

Gene Rutherford is the son of  Brandon and Kasey Rutherford. Gene plans to serve in the United States Airforce as a special missions aviator.

Layton Sailor is the son of Rocky and the late Candy Sailor. Layton plans to attend Mid-Plains Community College to study Automotive Mechanics and Diesel Technology. Layton also plans to obtain a CDL.
