Homecoming 2024!
Maywood Public School celebrated Homecoming the week of September 23rd through the 27th. All of the students and staff had an absolute blast getting to decorate the school and town of Maywood! On Saturday, September 21st Maywood Hayes Center had their homecoming dance where the kids were able to let loose and have some fun. On Sunday, September 23rd is when the Maywood students decorated the school and town. It was so much fun being able to see the students express themselves with their creativity. During the week the students got to have their dress up days and having fun at pep rallies. On Monday, September 23rd was Merica Monday where the students and staff dressed like their favorite Olympic athlete, or president, or wore red, white, and blue! Then on Tuesday, September 24th was movie day where the students choose a movie character and dressed up like them. Wednesday, September 25th was color wars! The Seniors dressed in black, juniors dressed in white, sophomores dressed in blue, freshmen dressed in pink, 8th grade dressed in orange, the 7th grade dressed in camouflage, 6th grade dressed in red, and the staff dressed in Green. On Thursday, September 26th was Maywood's Spirit day. The students and staff got to go downtown for a pep rally joining parents and community members. At the rally the students played games and showed off their dance moves! During the evening Maywood Hayes Center had their homecoming football game in Maywood and crowned their royalty. Then on Friday, September 27th the students wrapped homecoming week up by cleaning and having their last dress up day where they dressed like their favorite teacher or what career they wanted to be when they grew up. It was such an exiting week for everyone to have some fun and show off their creativity.
