State FFA Convention

Day 1 of the 96th Nebraska FFA Convention: (April 3rd)

Kassidy Hatfield and Dallas Grunden presented their cooperative speeches. The Ag Demo Team (Gage Gerlach, Jerry Ingison, Haydn Farr, Jaxson Anders) rocked their sausage making demo. Jaylee Sellers also did a great job on her Natural Resource speech. More of the Maywood FFA team arrived at the convention in the afternoon and the rest of their time was spend at the expo and in workshops. The Nursery and Landscape Team along with the Farm Business Management Team competed and members attended the first general session!

Day 2 of the 96th Nebraska FFA Convention: (April 4th)

The Livestock Management Team arrived early in the morning and did amazing in their contest. Members attended workshops and sessions. Karlee Hatfield crossed the stage to receive our certificate for te Connecting Chapters Program. The Agriscience Team also competed well in the afternoon and the Maywood FFA Chapter wrapped up the day with our chapter meal.

Day 3 of the 96th Nebraska FFA Convention: (April 5th)

Today the LDE participants earned their medals!

Kassidy Hatfield: Bronze, Dallas Grunden: Silver, Jaylee Sellers: Bronze, Ag Demo: Bronze.

The Maywood FFA Middle School Speakers presented their speeches and had a great time experiencing the State FFA Convention. Gavon Schurr earned a Bronze in Ag Literacy Speaking, and Brooklynn Tidyman earned a Silver in Discovery Speaking!

Six of Maywood's FFA members walked across the stage to recive their State FFA Degrees along with the other 826 Nebraska FFA members who earned their degrees! The six that earned their degrees from Maywood are Gage Gerlach, Jerry Ingison, Gene Rutherford, Haydn Farr, Nathan Renner, and Layton Sailor. The Maywood FFA Chapter ended their day with the Livestock Management Team finishing 4th in the state in the Swine Division! Congratulations to all of the FFA Members and Miss. Armstrong what an amazing job you all did! Also thank you Clinton Norgaard, Lindsey Farr, Lisa Werkmeister, and Kim Stengel for driving and being chaperons!
